WHY
WE ENCOURAGE ELECTRONIC FILING (EF)
- You
will receive your refund much faster.
- Errors
or Ommissions are discovered sooner by IRS computers, minimizing
penalties and interest later.
- You
receive a record of confirmation that IRS has received and approved
your return.
- You
can check on the status of your return from your computer.
- The
IRS can more easily process your return.
SPEED
An
electronically filed tax return takes 10 to 15 days
to get your refund to you. A mailed tax return takes 2 to
4 weeks to get to you. There is less chance of your refund
being held up due to error, as you are informed immediately of any
problem.
STATUS OF RETURN
You
will receive an e-mail if you successfully electronically filed
with the IRS.
You can check on the status of your return at any time. IRS will
e-mail you an acceptance or rejection (with an explanation) within
a few days. If you do not receive a confirmation, you can call the IRS At: 1-800-829-1040.
If you want to check on the status of your refund call: 1-800-829-1954
You will need your tax return copy in front of you.
